Putting together a menu is a tricky thing to do. It’s hard to please everyone and you will need to get a good balance of dishes. Here are some tips for creating that perfect menu:
- Have some variety. There will be dishes you want to showcase and that you are brilliant at cooking, but they just won’t suit everybody. Make sure you have enough variety in your menu.
- Have vegetarian options. Try to have two – vegetarians should be allowed a choice as well, and people who aren’t vegetarian will often choose a meat-free option for a bit of variety.
- Make sure all dishes can be made to an equal standard. Practice cooking the ones that you aren’t as confident with.
- Don’t try to over-complicate it. Come up with tantalising descriptions and have beautiful presentation, but at the end of the day, good food is good food, no matter how it looks.
